I’ve been doing a lot of screen printing this term. For my first project I deconstructed the Goldilocks fairy tale, creating a series of linen tea towels situated in a mid 20th century kitchen. I printed an alternate reading of the story from the perspective of the bears and used a modern aesthetic, taking the colour palette and shapes from mid sixties romantic comedy film titles. It’s a post colonial re-telling but it also speaks about my own difficulty relating to popular childhood imagery.
